BC women blank Bearcats


NEWTON, Mass. -- McKenzie Meehan scored her 50th career goal as the Boston College Eagles women’s team took a 2-0 victory over Cincinnati at the Newton Campus Field Friday night.

Hayley Dowd scored her second goal of the season and 34th of her career off a Lauren Berman feed in the 43rd minute.

Eagles (4-0-1) coach Alison Foley improved her record to 250-128-37 since arriving at BC in 1997.

Cincinnati (3-2-0) threatened early in the second half, Alexis Bryant making two saves.

Meehan capitalized on a bobble by Claudia Eustaquio to score in the 58th minute.
