BC men fall to Villanova Wildcats


NEWTON, Mass. -- Senior Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel improved his scoring streak to four games, but the Boston College menís team surrendered a late goal in falling, 2-1, to Villanova at the Newton Campus Field Sunday.

Villanova (1-2-0) took the lead on substitute Padraic McCullaugh 32nd-minute score off a Lucas Hodges feed. Schulze-Geisthovel tied the score with a 51st-minute goal off an assist from freshman Callum Johnson. The Eagles (3-1-0) outshot the Wildcats, 14-3, in the second half, but Jacob Anderson converted the deciding goal from the top of the penalty area off a corner kick in the 87th minute.
