WOMEN'S COLLEGE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Boston College Eagles forward McKenzie Meehan
The Boston College Eagles have not been overly dependent on senior forward McKenzie Meehan to win this season. The Eagles improved to 5-0-1 with victories over Cincinnati (2-0) Friday and Pacific (5-1) Sunday. Though Meehan scored in both matches, improving her goal-scoring streak to four games, she did not add to her BC record-equaling 16 game-winning goals.
Meehan, the New England Soccer News Women's Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 3, upped her BC-career record total to 51 goals. Meehan, the leading scorer in the 2014 FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifying tournament for the U.S., is continuing a comeback from an Achilles injury that caused her to miss the 2014 season. Meehanís best goal total as a collegian was 20 in 2013. She totaled 17 goals last season.
