BC women edge Northeastern for sixth straight win
BROOKLINE, Mass. -- McKenzie Meehan headed in her seventh goal of the season in the 102nd minute as the Boston College women’s team improved its winning streak to six games with a 2-1 overtime victory over Northeastern at Parsons Field Sunday.
Meehan finished a Jenna Bike free kick for her 54th career goal and 18th career game-winner, extending her scoring streak to six games. Andrea O’Brien scored off a Lauren Berman chip with three seconds on the clock to send the game into overtime.
Northeastern (2-4-0) took the lead on a 62nd-minute Breanna Koemans penalty kick. BC (7-0-1) threatened several times, including a Samantha Hiatt shot off the post, before breaking through in the 90th minute.
