BC women knocked off by NC State
NEWTON, Mass. -- The Boston College womenís team surrendered a sixth-minute goal in falling, 1-0, to North Carolina State in an Atlantic Coast Conference match at the Newton Campus Field Sunday.
BC (9-2-1 overall, 1-2-0 ACC) had a 17-8 edge in shots, several on free kicks as Wolfpack (8-3-0, 2-1-0) committed 20 fouls and was issued seven yellow cards.
Ricarda Walkling converted after her first two shots had been blocked, finishing past Alexis Bryant. The Eagles came closing to equalizing late in the opening half on a McKenzie Meehan close-range shot, Emily Langenderferís one-timer off the rebound, and Lauren Bermanís follow.
Meehan had a free kick saved at the near post by Sydney Wooten in the opening half and fired another set piece high in the final minute.
