BC Eagle men edge Panthers
PITTSBURGH -- Freshman Callum Johnson scored his first collegiate goal in the 89th minute as the Boston College menís team took a 1-0 win over Pittsburgh in an Atlantic Coast Conference match at Ambrose Urbanic Field Friday night.
Johnson scored off a Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel assist as BC (6-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 ACC) outshot Pittsburgh (2-8-2, 0-4-1), 15-4.
BC threatened in the opening half as Zeiko Lewis had a shot saved and the rebound blocked in the 23rd minute and Schulze-Geisthovel had a shot saved in the 33rd minute. BC freshman Younes Boudadi hit the crossbar in the 57th minute and Cedric Saladin made his lone save in the 86th minute.
