BC Eagle men held to home draw


NEWTON, Mass. -- The Boston College menís teamís home winless streak stretched to three games as the Eagles were held to a 0-0 draw by No. 3-ranked Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference match at the Newton Campus Field Friday night.

The Eagles (6-4-2 overall, 2-2-2 ACC), who outshot the Tigers (8-2-3, 3-1-2), 9-5, had a chance to take the lead as sophomore Trevor Davock hit the left post off a Zeiko Lewis pass in third minute. In the 21st minute, Clemson substitute Michael Swift advanced from the top of the penalty area and shot directly at Cedric Saladin. Davock came close in the 29th minute, his deflected 16-yarder skipping wide left.

In the second half, the Tigersí Diego Campos advanced on the left side of the penalty area and shot wide right in the 75th minute and BCís Simon Enstrom had an 82nd-minute shot saved. No shots were attempted in extra time.
