BC Eagle women lose third straight


CLEMSON, S.C. -- The Boston College women’s team rallied behind the second-half play of McKenzie Meehan but fell, 2-1, to No. 17-ranked Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference match at Riggs Field Thursday night.

The Eagles (10-6-1 overall, 2-6-0 ACC) outshot the Tigers (11-3-2, 5-1-2), 16-6, in losing their third successive game.

Clemson held the lead on goals by Shannon Horgan (12th minute) and Jenna Weston (17th). Meehan headed in a Lauren Berman cross in the 69th minute, her 11th goal of the season.
