NEWTON, Mass. -- The Boston College men’s team squandered a two-goal lead in falling, 3-2, in extra time to No. 14-ranked UMass-Lowell in a non-conference match at the Newton Campus Field Tuesday.

The Eagles (6-6-2) took a 2-0 halftime lead as senior Maximilian Schulz-Geisthovel scored his seventh goal of the season off a Mohammed Moro cross in the 15th minute and freshman Callum Johnson scored his second goal of the season, one-timing a clearance in the 38th minute.

The River Hawks (10-1-2) cut the deficit as Wuilito “Totti” Fernandes one-timed a pass from Dario Jovanovski in the 74th minute, then equalized as Ivan Abramovic scored the first of his two goals from short range in the 83rd minute.

BC’s Zeiko Lewis threatened off a Schulze-Geisthovel through ball, Carlos Ruiz clearing, in extra time. In the 110th minute, Abramovic converted off a close-range deflection.
