BU Terriers fall to Friars, losing streak at five

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Boston University Terriers women’s team controlled possession but fell, 2-0, to Providence in a non-conference match at Chapey Field Tuesday night.

BU (0-5-0), which threatened in the first half as Jesse Shreck hit the crossbar, stretched its scoreless streak to 394 minutes. The Terriers’ Hannah Ciolek made a diving save on a free kick at the left post midway through the opening half.

Juliana Pellegrini scored twice for PC (2-2-1). In the 65th minute, Pellegrini redirected a rebound past Ciolek from the edge of the goal area. In the 83rd minute, Pellegrini received a through ball and scored from close range.

The Terriers outshot Providence, 14-6, and 4-3 on net.
