Terriers bested by Bearcats in 90th minute

A last-second own goal sent the Boston University women’s team to its sixth successive loss, a 2-1 decision against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Terrier Tailgate game before a 1,949 crowd at Nickerson Field Monday night.

Cincinnati (4-2-0) took the lead on Kyleigh Dominguez’ 20-yarder in the 59th minute. Dorrie Varley-Barrett finished the rebound of a Chelsea Churchill shot to tie the score in the 76th minute. The Bearcats, who had a 13-12 shots advantage, earned the deciding goal with the clock showing 89:52.

“They aren’t seeing the outcome they are looking for from all of their hard look but life isn’t always fair,” BU (0-6-0) coach Nancy Feldman said. “I do believe in the end you get what you’ve earned and I feel like that is going to happen for this team.”
