BU Terrier women blanked by Bucknell


LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Boston University womenís team lost to a league rival for the first time in nearly two years, falling, 2-0, to Bucknell in both teamsí Patriot League opener Sunday.

BU (0-10-0, 0-1-0) had conference streaks of 12 games unbeaten and seven successive wins snapped. The Terriers had a 15-0-1 record against league foes in regular-season and tournament matches since a 1-0 loss to Loyola Maryland Oct. 18, 2014.

The Bison (7-0-1, 1-0-0) took the lead as Maddie Mulford finished the rebound of her shot that had been saved by Bridget Conway in the 20th minute.

BU rallied on early second half attempts by Kelly Park and Erika Kosienski, then a late attempt by Christina Wakefield was cleared. Bucknellís Alexis Gannonís shot went in off the post in the 90th minute for the second goal.
