BU Terriers blank Brown Bears


Freshman Jerry Ozor sparked the Boston University men's team to a 2-0 win over Brown, the Terriers snapping an eight-match winless streak against the Bears, at Nickerson Field Tuesday night.

Ozor, making his first start, helped set up goals by Matt McDonnell (42nd minute) and Anthony Viteri (54th). In the 17th minute, BU midfielder Magnus Benediktsson sent a shot over Erik Hanson off the bar. BU (3-2-0) took the lead as Ozorís shot off a counter was saved, McDonnell finishing the rebound. Viteri converted on a give-and-go with Ozor.

Senior Matt Gilbert, who made five saves, stopped a point-blank shot by Nate Pomeroy in the 71st minute as the Terriers defeated Brown (3-3-0) for the first time since 2007 and for the first time at Nickerson Field since a 2-0 victory in 2004.
