BOSTON UNIVERSITY TERRIERS

ONE STREAK STOPS, ONE CONTINUES
BU Terrier women trip American

A 25th-minute Rachel Bloznalis penalty kick helped the Boston University womenís team snap a 10-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over American in a Patriot League match at Nickerson Field Saturday.

The Terriers (1-10-0 overall, 1-1-0 Patriot League) threatened on a fifth-minute Dorrie Varley-Barrett shot that was tipped off the underside of the bar. BU, which outshot American, 19-1 (7-1 shots on goal), extended its conference home unbeaten streak to an NCAA Division 1-best 35 games.

"Playing a 90-minute soccer game, and you donít give them much of anything beyond three sniffs , that's pretty good," BU coach Nancy Feldman said. "It was our defending that set the tone for the game. There was an aggressiveness to play at a high tempo while playing in control."
