BU Terrier men brushed aside by Colgate

The Boston University menís team sustained its third successive defeat, a 2-1 loss to Colgate in a Patriot League match at Nickerson Field Wednesday night.

The Terriers (3-5-1 overall, 0-2-1 PL) fell behind as Zach Pagani scored the first of his two goals in the 26th minute, finishing inside the right post past a diving senior Matt Gilbert after Freddy Jonsson headed on a long ball from Oliver Harris.

Freshman Matt McDonnell tied the score, heading in an Adam Wright cross in the 38th minute after a set up from junior Anthony Viteri, his third goal of the season.

The Red Raiders (7-3-0, 2-1-0) broke the deadlock following a failed clearance, Pagani finishing into the upper right corner of the net in the 62nd minute.

McDonnell produced BUís other shot on goal in the 64th minute, a hard 12-yard drive off a failed clearance that was saved by Ricky Brown.
