BOSTON UNIVERSITY TERRIERS

October 24, 2016
WOMEN'S COLLEGE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Boston University Terrier defender Rachel Bloznalis

The Boston University Terriers experienced little success during the non-conference portion of their schedule. But the Terriers, who began the season with an 0-10 record, have compiled an eight-match unbeaten streak since Sept. 28, including 3-1 wins over Holy Cross and Army West Point last week.

And senior defender Rachel Bloznalis has been a key part of the Terriers’ turnaround. Bloznalis, the New England Soccer News Women's Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 24, is one of four players to have started all 18 games and leads BU in minutes (1,537).

Blozanalis, a Patriot League first team selection last season, has helped the defense adjust to the loss of goalkeeper Alyssa Parisi. The Terriers have surrendered 26 goals this season (two more than in 22 games last year), but have outscored opponents, 16-5, in the last eight games.
