BU men eliminated in first round of Patriot League tourney

The Boston University menís team rallied in the second half for a 1-1 draw with Bucknell before falling in penalty kicks in the first round of the Patriot League tournament at Nickerson Field Tuesday night.

The Terriers (8-6-3) fell behind to a 29th-minute Bredin Quinn header, going on the offensive in the second half as Anthony Viteri finished a Felix De Bona layoff from the top of the penalty area in the 79th minute, his eighth goal of the season.

The Bison (7-10-3) took the shootout, 4-1, as Ryan Ott saved De Bonaís opening penalty kick, then Adam Sheikali hit the crossbar with BUís third attempt. Junior defender Zack Rockmore, a transfer from Boston College, converted the clinching shot past Matt Gilbert (seven saves).
