Big Green women knock off Knights

HANOVER, N.H. -- Charlotte Esty scored her third goal of the season to propel the Dartmouth women’s team past Fairleigh Dickinson, 1-0, at Burnham Field Sunday.

Esty finished a Remy Broinsky cross in the 59th minute and the Big Green (4-2-0) held the Knights (1-5-0) to five shots.

“It was kind of a guts and glory day,” Dartmouth coach Ron Rainey said. “I’m proud of how we came out in the second half of the game. I’m also proud of how we defended in the first half and how we played in the attack to create good scoring chances.

“Charlotte works really hard out in the field. You want somebody with a short memory on the missed shots, but to keep getting those chances. We’re glad that we have her here and we’re glad she’s scored some goals for us this season.”
