Big Green women blanked by Bulldogs

HANOVER, N.H. -- The Dartmouth women’s team sustained its third successive shutout defeat, falling, 1-0, to Yale in an Ivy League match at Burnham Field Saturday.

The Big Green (6-5-0 overall, 0-2-0 Ivy) produced its best threat on a Remy Borinsky shot early in the second half. The Bulldogs (5-4-3, 1-1-1) broke the deadlock as Noelle Higginson scored her first collegiate goal on a shot from distance into the upper right corner of the net off a Hannah Coy pass in the 72nd minute.

“We worked tremendously hard today,” Big Green coach Ron Rainey said. “I think in these one-goal games, the margin for error is slim. While we created some good chances, so did Yale. I think all we can do is keep working hard and keep battling. I think the league is really close and we’ll have a similar game next week.”
