Dartmouth men edge Yale

HANOVER, N.H. -- Goals from Matt Danilack (42nd minute) and Matt Greer (62nd) gave the Dartmouth men’s team a 2-0 win over Yale in an Ivy League match at Burnham Field Saturday night.

The Big Green (3-2-5, 1-0-1) improved their unbeaten streak to four games, outshooting the Bulldogs (1-4-2, 0-1-1), 10-6, and playing the last five minutes at a numerical disadvantage as Justin Donawa was ejected after a second caution.

“I think every win is important,” Big Green coach Chad Riley said. “We knew Yale was going to be tough and organized. They played a challenging schedule and credit to them. They’ve turned into a strong team and program. I think overall being at home comes with some added pressure and I think the guys responded well to that. They played with good intensity and control for the most part. I think Yale limited our chances, but I think we created enough to win.

“One of the things I love about our league is that every weekend is a big weekend. You like to go into a week of training with a win, because it puts a little more bounce in your step.”
