Crusader men blanked by Black Knights

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Holy Cross men’s team surrendered a seventh-minute goal to Rex Epps in falling, 1-0, to Army West Point in a Patriot League match at Clinton Field Wednesday night.

Epps finished past a on-rushing freshman Bobby Hurstak and Army (5-4-1 overall, 2-1-0 PL) held the Crusaders (5-6-0, 1-2-0) to one shot on goal, a 43rd-minute attempt by junior Brad Ross.

“Army played stronger than us at the start of the game and that was the difference,” Holy Cross coach Marco Koolman said. “We can’t fall behind early and always expect to be able to win in the second half. We need to get back to scoring goals like we did at the start of the season. We look forward to the Navy game and know we have to start off strong to get a victory.”
