Crusader men halted by Huskies

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- The Holy Cross menís teamís winless streak extended to six games with a 3-1 loss to Northeastern in a non-conference match at Parsons Field Wednesday night.

The Crusaders (5-7-2) outshot the Huskies (5-9-0), 18-7.

Northeastern took the lead as Christian McKenna finished the rebound of a penalty kick in the ninth minute. Kevin Carvalho (19th minute) and Brendan Massie (27th) upped the Husky halftime lead to 3-0. Junior Arno Rupp scored his fourth goal of the season in the 85th minute.

ďWe did not play well in the first half," HC coach Marco Koolman said. "You canít allow that many goals so early on in the game and expect to be able to win. We played a lot better in the second half as we did not allow a shot on goal and had a lot of chances to score. As we prepare to take on Lafayette on Saturday, we need to play with the same determination we did tonight in the second half throughout the entire game.Ē
