Crusaders men blanked by BU Terriers

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Holy Cross menís teamís winless streak stretched to eight games with a 2-0 loss to Boston University in a Patriot League and Turnpike Trophy match at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium Wednesday night.

The Crusaders (5-8-3 overall, 1-3-3 PL) outshot the Terriers (6-6-2, 2-3-2), 20-14. Anthony Viteri (18th minute) and Felix De Bona (84th) scored for BU. Freshman Bobby Hurstak made five saves for the Crusaders and BUís Matt Gilbert made four saves in being named Turnpike Trophy most valuable player.

"The difference in the game was two mistakes and their goalkeeper." HC coach Marco Koolman said. "You have to give their goalkeeper credit, he was exceptional. I thought we played really well, especially in the first half but their goalkeeper kept them in the game."
