Crusader women fall in finale

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Holy Cross women’s team concluded the season with a third successive home defeat, falling, 1-0, to Loyola in a Patriot League match Saturday.

The Crusaders (3-12-2 overall, 2-5-2 PL) outshot the Greyhounds (6-6-4, 2-4-3), 12-10.

Maddie Boccio scored on the rebound of a Maddie Hart penalty kick in the 22nd minute as the Crusaders’ Brooke Holle made three saves.

“The team competed hard and put itself in a great position today,” HC coach Casey Brown said. “It’s unfortunate it did not go our way, but I could not be more proud of this group and the strides we have made together.”
