STORRS, Conn. -- The Northeastern Huskies women's team, playing its first game under coach Ashley Phillips, lost, 1-0, to No. 15 Connecticut in both teamsí season-opener at Morrone Stadium Friday night.

Sophomore Nathalie Nidetch made a career-high 10 saves, seven in the first half, as UConn held an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal. In the 32nd minute, Stephanie Ribeiro scored, pounding on a long goal kick and chipped over a charging Nidetch.

Redshirt freshman Lizzie George and freshmen Emily Evangelista, Olivia Ware and Kerri Zerfoss, who started at center back, made their Northeastern debuts.
