Northeastern women edge past Explorers
PHILADELPHIA -- Redshirt junior Taylor Caparo scored twice and sophomore Hannah Rosenblatt netted an 84th-minute game-winner as the Northeastern women's team took a 4-3 win over La Salle at McCarthy Stadium Friday night.
Freshman Kerri Zerfoss notched her first collegiate goal as the Huskies (2-2-1) scored three times in less than 11 minutes for a 3-1 halftime lead.
La Salle (2-3-0) took the lead on Maci Bower’s 27th-minute finish of a Kristin Haugstad cross. Zerfoss tie finished a Kimberly Slade corner to tie the score in the 29th minute. Caparo finished an Olivia Ware feed in the 37th minute and a scored off a Valentina Soares Gache assist in the 39th minute.
In the 66th minute, the Explorers (2-3-0) tied the score as Danielle Marx scored off a Deja Davis pass. Rosenblatt then scored her second game-winner of the season off a Slade corner.
