Northeastern women put scare into BC

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- The Northeastern women’s team came within seconds of upsetting Boston College, before falling, 2-1, in overtime at Parsons Field Sunday.

The Eagles (7-0-1) scored the tying goal in the 90th minute, then McKenzie Meeham provided the winner in the 102nd minute.

NU (3-4-1), which has never defeated the Eagles in women’s soccer, took the lead on a 63rd-minute penalty kick by Breeana Koemans after Hannah Rosenblatt had been fouled.

In the final seconds of regulation, Andrea O’Brien finished a Lauren Berman cross to tie the score.

In the opening overtime, Kayla Cappuzzo went in alone on Alexis Bryant, who saved, and then knocked away Rosenblatt’s rebound.
