Northeastern men slay Dragons
BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Christian McKenna and Ackim Mpofu scored their first goals of the season as the Northeastern menís team a 2-0 win over Drexel in both teamsí CAA opener at Parsons Field Saturday night.
Northeastern (2-4-0 overall, 1-0-0) took eight first-half shots, McKenna curling a shot in in the 18th minute, Mpofu rolling a shot in off the left post off a give-and-go with Brendan Massie in the 41st minute. Khori Bennett and Brendan Massie had their first assists of the season.
Jonathan Thuresson made three saves, blanking Drexel (1-3-2, 0-1-0) for the second time in his career.
