NU Husky men halt James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Ackim Mpofuís 103rd-minute goal gave the Northeastern men's team a 1-0 extra time win over James Madison in a Colonial Athletic Association match Saturday.

The Huskies (4-9-0 overall, 2-4-0 CAA) were outshot by the Dukes (1-9-3, 1-3-2), 20-4, in winning their second successive road game and moving into fourth place in the conference.

Jonathan Thuresson made four saves, including a 70th-minute stop on a Toby Appleton penalty kick, the first NU penalty save since Oliver Blum against VCU Sept. 24, 2011. NU earned its second shutout in the last three games, Mpofu scoring after chesting down Kevin Carvalhoís free kick.
