Northeastern women drop Dragons
BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Hannah Rosenblatt scored her 13th goal of the season as the Northeastern women's team won its third Colonial Athletic Association tournament title in four seasons, taking a 3-0 victory over Drexel at Parsons Field Sunday.
The Huskies (14-6-1) earned their fourth bid to the NCAA tournament under first-year coach Ashley Phillips.
Rosenblatt scored from the top of the penalty area off a Kayla Cappuzzo cross in the 23rd minute. Sophomore Nicole Gorman converted off a Cappuzzo layoff in the 57th minute and senior Carina Deandreis scored on a 70th-minute free kick.
Rosenblatt, the tournament’s outstanding player, plus Husky goalkeeper Nathalie Nidetch and defender Jenny Sinclair were named to the all-tournament team as NU won its fourth CAA title (2008, ’14, ’15, ’16).
