COLLEGE BOOT SPOTLIGHT: HANNAH ROSENBLATT
Meet the Candidates, and Vote!
Northeastern Huskies sophomore forward Hannah Rosenblatt is one of three nominees for the New England Soccer News women’s college player of the year and the Soccer News Net Women’s College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.
Rosenblatt totaled 13 goals (six game-winners) in 22 games and was named an All-Colonial Athletic Association first teamer, along with teammates Kayla Cappuzzo, Mackenzie Dowd and Hannah Lopiccolo. Rosenblatt scored both goals in a 2-1 win over James Madison Oct. 23, as the Huskies (14-7-1) clinched the regular-season CAA championship. Rosenblatt then totaled three goals in wins over William & Mary and Drexel in being named Most Outstanding Player as the Huskies won the CAA tournament for the third time in four years on the way to an NCAA berth.
Rosenblatt, the New England Soccer News Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 6, compiled a four-game scoring streak as Northeastern made a strong late-season run. Rosenblatt was named first team All-ECAC and second team All-New England by the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association.
Fan voting accounts for 40% of the total toward selection of the Soccer News Net College Boot, and the winner of the popular voting receives the Soccer News Net Supporters’ Choice award.
