OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES
Friar men halted by UConn Huskies

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College menís team continued to struggle offensively, sustaining a 1-0 loss to Connecticut in a non-conference match at Anderson Stadium Wednesday night.

The Friars (4-5-0) were shut out for the third successive game, and the Huskies (7-3-0) scored on a 77th-minute Abdou Mbacke Thiam goal. Thiam beat the defense on the left flank, then went in alone against an on-rushing Ben Seguljic, finishing into an open net.

Substitute Alex DaCostaís close-range second-half attempt was saved by Scott Levene, the Friarsí only shot on goal.
