UConn women stopped by Scarlet Knights

STORRS, Conn. -- The No. 10 UConn women's team fell to No. 22 Rutgers, 2-0, at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium Sunday.

UConn (3-1-0) had a 15-game home winning streak snapped with their first loss since a 2-0 loss to USF Oct. 17, 2014.

Senior Maddie Damm got UConn off to a strong start. Senior Emily Armstrong, who finished with four saves, made a crucial stop in the ninth minute.

Rutgers (3-0-1) scored in the 24th and 34th minutes off corner kicks.

UConn outshot Rutgers, 13-0, in the second half and had a 22-9 shot differential.

In the 54th minute, junior Faith McCarthy cleared a Rutgers shot off the line.

UConn senior Toriana Patterson had chances in the 74th and 88th minutes.
