UConn men topple Temple
STORRS, Conn. -- Sophomore Abdou Mbacke Thiam scored for the fourth time in three matches as the UConn menís team took a 1-0 win over Temple in both teamsí American Athletic Conference opener before a 4,159 crowd at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium Saturday night.
The Huskies (6-3-0 overall, 1-0-0 conference) improved their winning streak to three games and are 5-0-3 all-time against the Owls (5-3-0, 0-1-0).
Thiam scored in the 64th minute, heading home an in-swinging corner from senior tri-captain Kwame Awuah as Connecticut improved to 5-0-0 when Thiam scores.
Redshirt junior Scott Levene made five saves, including a sliding stop, after coming off his line, on Belal Mohamed in the seventh minute.
