UConn women glide past Golden Hurricane

STORRS, Conn. -- Senior Rachel Hill and redshirt senior Stephanie Ribeiro scored twice as the No. 21 UConn women's team took a 4-2 win over Tulsa in both teamsí American Athletic Conference opener at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium Thursday night.

The Huskies (9-2-0 overall, 1-0-0 conference) extended their winning streak to four games.

UConn got off to a lead in the 11th minute as Hill scored from short range off a Ribeiro pass. Tulsa (4-6-1, 0-1-0) tied the score a minute later on an Anna Williams goal.

In the 22nd minute, senior Maddie Damm passed to Ribeiro, who scored off the post for a 2-1 halftime lead.

Hill tallied her eighth goal of the season in the 73rd minute. Rachel Thun cut the Golden Hurricane deficit to 3-2 a minute later.

Off a breakaway in the 78th minute, Ribeiro scored her 10th goal of the season, as UConn outshot Tulsa, 23-6.
