UConn men tamed by Tigers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The UConn menís team started strong but dropped its second straight game, a 2-0 decision to Memphis in an American Athletic Conference match at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex Saturday night.

UConn (11-6-0 overall, 3-3-0 American), shut out for the fifth time this season, threatened as Cheikh Stephane Coly had a shot stopped by Jake Leeker in the opening minute and Abdou Mbacke Thiam, who totaled seven shots, hit the crossbar late in the half. The Tigers (8-7-1, 2-3-1) took the lead as Jackson Morse scored the first of his two goals in the 40th minute. Morse added his sixth goal of the season in the 62nd minute.
