UMass women stopped by Central Michigan
AMHERST, Mass. -- The UMass women’s team produced more shots than Central Michigan, but fell, 3-1, to the Chippewas at Rudd Field Sunday.
Gabriela Kenyon scored in the 61st minute for UMass (2-3-0), which outshot Central Michigan (7-0-0), 12-11. Alexis Pelafas scored the first of her two goals in the fourth minute, off a Eliza Van De Kerkhove feed after a Jamie Rademacher cross. In the 32nd minute, the Chippewas took a two-goal lead on a Meghan Sweeney header after Cassidy Babin deflected a McKay Matheson cross. Pelafas scored again in the 68th minute.
