UMass women clipped by Colonials


AMHERST, Mass. -- The UMass womenís teamís winless streak extended to seven games with a 2-0 loss to George Washington in an Atlantic 10 Conference match at Rudd Field Sunday. The Colonials scored in the 21st and 27th minutes.

UMass (2-8-1, 0-4-0 A-10), which has lost its last five games, outshot the Colonials (8-4-1, 2-1-1), 11-9.

Lina Proska opened the scoring with a shot from 15 yards inside the far post off a MacKenzie Cowley centering pass from the left in the 21st minute. In the 27th minute, Cowley one-timed the rebound of a Proska shot, saved by Cassidy Babin.
