A REAL SNOW JOB
Early elimination for Minutewomen

AMHERST, Mass. -- The UMass women's team’s post-season chances ended as it fell, 2-1, to Atlantic 10 Conference champion Saint Joseph’s in a snow-shortened match at Rudd Field Thursday.

UMass (3-10-3 overall, 1-6-2 A-10), which had its three-match unbeaten streak snapped, needed a win over the Hawks and at Dayton Sunday to advance to the conference tournament.

With snow accumulating before kickoff, UMass took the lead as Jackie Miller finished off a Megan Burke-Erin Doster combination in the 29th minute.

The Hawks (15-1-2, 8-0-1) equalized as Dakota Mills sent a low shot skidding past Cassidy Babin in the 39th minute. Lauren Dimes converted the deciding goal off a Mills setup in the 51st minute. The match was terminated in the 71st minute.
