Catamount men stifle Sacred Heart

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Bernard Yeboah and Brian Wright combined for all three goals as the Vermont menís team blanked Sacred Heart, 3-0, in the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic Friday night.

Yeboah and Wright have accounted for all eight goals this season for the Catamounts (3-0-0).

"We really wanted to get on top of the game early, and I give Bernard and Brian a lot of credit," Vermont coach Jesse Cormier said. "There are some things we could have done better, and we're going to need to be better on Sunday for us to be successful against LIU Brooklyn."

Wright set up two Yeboah goals in the opening nine minutes. In the sixth minute, Wright slid a pass from near the end line across to Yeboah, who first-timed a shot from the top of the goal area. Defender Arthur Bacquet earned a secondary assist, springing Wright down the right flank.

Three minutes later, Yeboah flicked a header from Wright's long throw over the head of Robert Strain into the left corner of the net for his fifth goal of the season and second multiple-goal game.

In the 70th minute, Loftur Eriksson nodded down a Jon Arnar Barodal corner, Wright finishing from close range for his third goal of the season.
