Vermont Catamount forward Brian Wright

Canadian senior forward Brian Wright could not have had a much more productive start to the Vermont Catamount season. Wright has been involved in all but one goal as Vermont has won its opening four games by an 11-2 margin.

Wright has totaled four goals and six assists for the Catamounts and was named co-MVP along with teammate Bernard Yeboah as Vermont won the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic Sunday. Wright, the New England Soccer News Men's Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 3, had three goals and five assists in three games last week.

At this pace, Wright, who grew up in Ajax, Ontario, and was named outstanding player after scoring the winning goal in the America East Conference tournament final last year, could challenge several Vermont records. Wrightís goal in a 3-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn Sunday tied him for third place with Baldwin and Jamie Farrell with 29 career goals, trailing John Koerner (45) and Mike Mason (30).
