Vermont men drop extra time decision to Hartwick

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Bernard Yeboah moved into second place nationally with his ninth goal of the season, but the 16th-ranked Vermont men’s team dropped a 2-1 extra time decision to Hartwick in a non-conference match at Virtue Field Tuesday night.

UVM (8-2-1) had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped and lost for the first time in five home games this season. The Catamounts took the lead as Yeboah one-timed a drive from the left past Lenny Wilson (six saves) off a low cross from Shane Haley in the 81st minute.

Hartwick (5-1-2) equalized as Kane O’Neill volleyed a 25-yarder into the top right corner in the 85th minute.

In the 104th minute, Haley’s low right-footer hit the outside of the right post. Kyle Honor scored the deciding goal at the far post past a diving Aron Runarsson (five saves) off a blooped cross from Cameron Paton in the 106th minute.
