Catamount men snap losing streak

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Freshman midfielder Jon Arnar Barđdal and senior forward Bernard Yeboah combined on both goals as the Vermont men’s team took a 2-0 win over Binghamton in an America East Conference match Saturday night.

The Catamounts (10-5-1 overall, 2-3-1 conference), who snapped a three-game losing streak, took the lead as Barđdal finished after a Yeboah pass off a throw-in in the seventh minute. Yeboah finished from 20 yards off a Barđdal pass in the 67th minute.

"Tonight was a good, complete performance, back to front,” Vermont coach Jesse Cormier said. “We got two great goals by both Jon and Bernard while getting a clean sheet. This league has been a challenge for us, but the guys came together and battled for 90 minutes. It was not beautiful at times, but at this of the year it's not about being aesthetically pleasing, it's all about finding a way to be successful. The guys did that tonight."
