Reds top RSL

TORONTO FC 1, REAL SALT LAKE 0
TORONTO--Tosaint Ricketts opened his MLS scoring account with the 68th-minute game-winner as Toronto FC edged Real Salt Lake 1-0 Wednesday night at BMO Field.

Goalkeeper Alex Bono stopped all three of RSL's shots on goal to preserve the shutout and give the Reds (9-7-6, 33 pts) sole possession of third place in the MLS East. Salt Lake fall to 9-7-7 (34).

Bono also set the game's only scoring play with a booming upfield distribution that was headed along by Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco to Ricketts, who blew past defender Tony Bentran into the box and chipped a shot over unprotected 'keeper Nick Rimando.

Luke Mulholland had a solid chance to level the score for RSL in the 77th minute, but Bono charged through the six-yard box to block the open shot.
