Dynamo rally against SKC

KANSAS CITY, Kan.--Raul Rodriguez scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to lift the Houston Dynamo into a 3-3 tie with Sporting Kansas City Friday night at Children's Mercy Park.

Rodriguez finished off Boniek Garcia's right side free kick with a cleanly nodded header to salvage the point for Houston. The Dynamo remain at the bottom of the MLS West at 5-11-11 (26 pts). Sporting are in fifth place at 11-12-6 (39).

SKC took a quick 2-0 lead on unassisted goals by Jacob Peterson in the 14th minute and Roger Espinoza in the 26th. Peterson's was a third-chancer, after his initial attempt was blocked and goalkeeper Joe Willis saved Dom Dwyer's follow-up. Espinoza blasted a 22-yarder into the left side of the net to double KC's lead.

Mauro Manotas pulled the Dynamo to within a goal in the 30th minute, beating defender Kevin Ellis to Boniek Garcia's pinpoint pass through the penalty area, and Alex leveled the score 2-2 in the 59th with an unguarded left-footer after Ellis failed to pick off Boniek Garcia's pass through the box.

Dwyer appeared to have delivered the win to Sporting in the 81st minute, after Espinoza rather clumsily relayed Benny Feilhaber's corner kick through the penalty area, before Rodriguez's last-second heroics.
