HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.---Andres Flores had a goal and an assist to lead the New York Cosmos to a 3-0 win over the Jacksonville Armada FC in front of 3,827 fans at Shuart Stadium Wednesday night.

New York got on the board first in the 27th minute when Flores took a through ball from Lucky Mkosana (3-0-0, 9 pts) from inside the penalty area and put the ball past a diving Armada goalkeeper Sean Lewis off one touch. Then in the 34th, Flores struck again, this time assisting David Diosa in front of the goal on a cross from the right wing to make it 2-0.

Adam Moffat extended the Cosmos’ lead to 3-0 when he connected on a blast from outside the penalty area that hit inside the upper left of the net. Jacksonville’s (1-1-1, 4 pts) best attempt at avoiding the shutout came in the second minute of stoppage time when Junior Sandoval ran on to a Jason Plumhoff cross, but it was stopped by Cosmos goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer.
