CARY, NC - Jamie Chavez scored two goals, including the 80th minute equalizer as Miami FC played the Carolina RailHawks to a 3-3 draw at WakeMed Soccer Park Friday night.

Miami (1-1-2, 5pts) took the lead in the 6th minute when Jonathon Borrajo’s cross found Chavez’s feet. The forward chipped it over Carolina’s goalkeeper Brian Sylvestre to score the first goal of the night.

The RailHawks’ (2-1-1, 7pts) leveled in the 30th minute when Nazmi Albadawi sent a free kick into the box to create a frenzy in front of the goal. The cross eventually found Matt Fondy, who tapped the ball just enough to force it over the goal line.

Miami FC scored again late in the first half after a quick free kick set Kwadwo Poku up to sneak the ball past Sylvestre.

The stalemate was disrupted in the 61st minute when the RailHawks tied the score for the second time. Brian Shriver headed Tiyi Shipalane’s cross from the right side into the upper left corner out of Vega’s reach to tie the match at 2.

Carolina took their first lead of the game in the 78th minute, as recent signee Omar Bravo put away his first goal for the RailHawks in his NASL home debut off of a cross from Shipalane. Miami FC’s Jamie Chavez immediately answered and knocked the ball past Sylvestre to even the score.
