Cosmos draw Rayo OKC 1-1

Rayo (3-1-4, 13 pts/6-5-7, 25 pts overall) stunned the Cosmos by taking the lead in the fourth minute. Billy Forbes crossed the ball in from the left flank that Georgios Samaras, making his first start this season, slammed home from close range.
New York (4-2-2, 14pts fall/10-6-2, 32 pts overall) equalized in the 39th minute on an Adam Moffat penalty kick after former Red Bulls defender Kosuke Kimura was called for taking down Lucky Mkosana in the box as referee Sorin Stoica pointed to the penalty spot. Moffat sent his attempt toward the lower left corner. Rayo goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes guessed correctly, but could not stop the attempt
