Edmonton comes back for 2-2 draw


FC EDMONTON 2, OTTAWA FURY FC 2
OTTAWA, ON - Darryl Fordyce scored two goals to help FC Edmonton come from behind in a 2-2 draw with Ottawa Fury FC at TD Place Friday.

With the tie, Fury FC (3-6-3, 12 pts/ Fall 5-11-6, 21 pts) extended their unbeaten streak to three games as they halted FC Edmonton's shutout streak at 536 minutes thanks to Thomas Stewart's goal inside the opening two minutes. Stewart capitalized on an errand pass in the Eddies backline. Stewart kept his cool before firing past Matt VanOekel.

Maxim Tissot scored his first goal in Fury colors, in the 36th minute, jumping on the rebound of a Thomas Stewart shot, after a brilliant cross from the right flank from Ryan Williams.

Edmonton (7-1-3, 24pts Fall/12-4-5, 4 pts overall)cut Ottawa's lead in half six minutes later when Fordyce connected on a Sainey Nyassi corner, heading the ball behind Romauld Peiser.

The Eddies were able to find the equalizer when Fordyce found himself behind Ottawa's defense sending the ball far post for his second goal of the game and evening up the score at 2-2.
