Ottawa extends string to four with 0-0 tie

OTTAWA FURY 0, PUERTO RICO FC 0
BAYAMON, Puerto Rico - Ottawa Fury FC extended their unbeaten streak to four games as they played to a 0-0 draw with Puerto Rico FC at Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel Wednesday night.

The Fury's streak encompasses four straight draws, including two in which they did not score.

Romuald Peiser made four saves to post the clean sheet for Ottawa (3-6-4, 13 pts Fall/5-11-7, 22 pts Overall) , while Trevor Spangenberg made three saves for Puerto Rico (1-6-6, 9pts Fall/Overall).

Thomas Stewart came close to opening the score with a goal in a third consecutive match in the 56th minute when he jumped on a rebound from Maxim Tissot, but saw his shot go wide. Then in the 65th Puerto Rico believed they scored the first goal of the game on a perfect free kick from Hector Ramos, but the referee disallowed the goal because it was ruled an indirect free kick, but Ramos took it as direct.

Peiser saved the clean sheet and the draw in additional time with a perfectly timed saved on Pedro Mendes' header to allow his team to extend its unbeaten streak to four games.
